Chris Colfer has revealed he’s stepping into a bold new chapter by writing a “very gay” adult novel.
Best known for playing Kurt Hummel in Glee, Colfer said his upcoming book will be “really spooky” and inspired by a personal experience, featuring queer themes with darker storytelling.
The actor and author, who had huge success with his ‘The Land of Stories’ series, shared the update while attending the Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Oscars viewing party, hinting that the project will be a major departure from his children’s books.

Colfer also joked about the rising popularity of queer romance on screen, giving a shoutout to Heated Rivalry, as he teased fans with what’s to come.
“I don’t know how many surgeries it would take for me to look like that,” he joked, “but I’m willing to find out.
“Is that too much to ask for? Even AI couldn’t give me an a*** like that. It’s extraordinary.”
The novel is expected to be released in summer 2027.
