Bake Off’s Rose Matafeo joked ‘straight woman’ is the ‘worst sexuality’

Rose Matafeo speaking about being straight in Horndog

The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off is back with a returning comedians special this weekend, starring Tom Davis, Roisin Conaty, Judi Love and Rose Matafeo, who has spoken hilariously about her sexuality in the past.

On her first stint in the Bake Off tent, Rose was famously “sabotaged” by Friends star David Schwimmer. He hovered behind her as she attempted to cook some tarts, and questioned her technique, as well as hinting that he’d turned off her oven: a cardinal sin in the cake community.

We’re glad she now gets to come back and try again, without any funny business from Schwimmer, and his antics reminded us of the hilarious things she’s said about being straight – and having to put up with straight cis men – in the past.

In her 2020 TV special Horndog, she has a whole, side-splitting segment dedicated to why she thinks that being a straight woman is the “worst sexuality”.

While talking about how she’s only kissed nine men in her life, she continues: “I honestly think that subconsciously there I am holding out at single digits with men because I think once I hit double digits it does mean that I am definitely straight and I’m not ready for that… yeah that’s a horrible thing to sign up for.”

She goes on to explain: “It’s the worst sexuality/gender combination… what it means is that given all of the options in the world for any sexual partner we desire, we still went with dudes. Like what kind of poor decision-making skills does that reflect upon our community?”

She also describes being a straight woman “at times like these” is “like trying to recommend a restaurant that has given you food poisoning eight times.”

She ends the very funny routine by quipping: “I think that men with their s*** together could be quite a popular porn category.”
