Starbucks is bringing back its gayest ever drink Unicorn Frappuccino – for a select few

Starbucks is bringing back its Unicorn Frappuccino – but only at Coachella for a few hours each day the festival is on.

The colourful drink went viral in 2017, after it became available in some stores in the US, Canada and Mexico.

This time it’s even more exclusive, as it will only be available at Coachella festival and not in any other locations. On top of that, it will only be up for grabs for a few hours each day across the festival weekends (10-12 April and 17-19 April).

Starbucks are the official coffee, tea and Refreshers sponsor of the influencer-favourite weekender.

If you’ve never tried one – likely most of the world, considering how limited it was – then you might be wondering what makes it so special.

The bright pink drink is made with a mango-syrup base, before a sour blue drizzle is added on top.

It’s then made of a white mocha and syrup mix, with pink powder to give it its DayGlo colouring.

To top it off, it’s got whipped cream and a tangy blue and pink powder on top.

Starbucks said: “An emblem of colour, and the festival’s free-spirited energy, the beverage’s bold hues and unexpected flavour twists mirror the creativity and individuality celebrated across the festival grounds, making it a must-have accessory for festivalgoers looking to sip something as vibrant and unforgettable as the weekend itself.”

Be careful, though, as upon its initial release in 2017, it was criticised for including a whopping 76 grams of sugar in a Venti size.

Why is the Unicorn Frappuccino only at Coachella?

The limited edition drink requires ingredients that aren’t usually carried in standard Starbucks locations.

Coachella’s Starbucks Coffeehouse, open to all attendees, will also serve plenty of other drinks for anyone not wanting to add a pop of colour to their Instagram photos.
