Transexual Sentenced After Slashing Her Boyfriend’s Ex Lover’s Throat
A transsexual has been sentenced to four and half years in prison after she slashed the throat of her boyfriend’s ex lover.
Lisa Woodhall, who used to be known as Paul Hayes, cut the throat of Philip Dean before slashing him across his eyelids.
Mr Dean was previously in a two year relationship with Woodhall’s parnter, George Harris. Mr Dean told his local newspaper, the Evening Herald that the attack was unprovocked. “I passed out and woke up bleeding. Every time I spoke more blood came spurting out. It just missed my windpipe. She could have killed me. I don’t know why she attacked me. It may have been jealousy.”
Piers Norsworthy, Prosecuting, told the court that Woodhall went to Mr Dean’s flat at 4pm on May 4th and was invited in. She then said, “Do you know what I have got in my pocket?’, and produced a red penknife. Woodhall then pushed her victim who then stumbled to the floor hitting his head on the radiator. She then pushed his head back, cut his throat and slashed his eyelids. Mr Dean needed five stitches to his neck and a stitch on each eyelid.
Woodhall’s defence team said that the transexual suffered from a drug and alchol problem and issues relating to her identity.
High Court Judge Mr Justice Cooke sentencing told Woodhall, “It appears that you called on the complainant Mr Dean and were invited into his maisonette and that you attacked him with a penknife and possibly with another knife as well. The exact circumstances in which that occurred are not altogether clear but nonetheless, on your own case, you lost your temper with him in circumstances where something had been said to you.”
“In the event, what occurred was a terrifying experience for Mr Dean where you took a knife to his throat and you then slashed at his face and caused damage to his eyelids.
It is fortunate for you and indeed for him that no worse injury was caused than what did occur.”
Woodhall, who had a completed surgery to become a woman in 2004 pleaded guilty to wounding with intent at Plymouth Crown Court and will serve her sentence at Eastwood Park women’s prison near Bristol.
