Paris Hilton doing well in prison, waxwork mocked
Heiress, socialite and gay icon Paris Hilton is said to be “doing very well” after her first night behind bars after she began her jail sentence for violating probation after a number of driving offences in Los Angeles.
Paris Hilton’s jail term had already been cut from 45 days to 23 days.
From outside the prison, her lawyer Richard A. Hutton, said: “Paris Hilton has turned herself in to begin serving her sentence for violating probation at a Los Angeles County Jail located in Lynwood, California.”
Hilton said in a statement: “This is an important point in my life and I need to take responsibility for my actions. In the future, I plan on taking more of an active role in the decisions I make.
“Although I am scared, I am ready to begin my jail sentence.”
The star of The Simple Life Star is confined to her cell for 23 hours a day but gets an hour to shower (presumably with fellow inmates) and to make telephone calls.
The New York waxwork museum, Madame Tussaud’s is mocking Hilton. They’ve dressed her up in a black and white striped prison suit.
The London branch of the museum chain does not currently have a waxwork of the star.
