Gay radio station nominated for prestigious award
Gaydar Radio is the running for its third award in less than a year, this time its The Argiva Commercial Radio Digital Station of the Year.
In April, GaydarRadio was named UK Digital Terrestrial Station of the Year at the Sony Radio Awards, beating off stiff competition from the BBC Asian Network and Fun Radio.
In October last year listeners voted them the Best Radio Station in the BT Digital Music Awards.
Station boss Robin Crowley said:
“It’s been one heck of a year. In March, we turned five years old with our biggest audience figures ever, more live programming then ever and brand new funky station idents which reflect that fact that GaydarRadio is the sound of Gay UK.”
They were shortlisted last year for The Argiva Commercial Radio Digital Station of the Year but lost out to Planet Rock.
Gaydar Radio is up against Planet Rock again this year and radio station The Jazz.
Crowley says they have their fingers crossed in the hope of making it a hat trick.
The winners will be announced at a lunchtime industry awards bash on July 2.
