Men charged after eggs thrown in Manchester’s gay village
Two men have been charged for throwing eggs at members of the public in Manchester’s gay village.
According to police, they drove around Sackville street in a Renault Clio shortly after midnight on Thursday shouting homophobic abuse and targeting pedestrians with the eggs.
Peter James Young, 23, of Hardman Street, Chadderton was charged with common assault and a public order offence.
Phillip Shepherd, 25, of Derby Street, Chadderton was charged with a public order offence.
Young appeared before Manchester city magistrates’ court today (Friday), while Shepherd will appear before the court on September 1st.
