Restraining order for trans teen who impersonated Katie Price
A transgender teenager who impersonated Katie Price at a local branch of HSBC and stole thousands of pounds of her money has been given a restraining order against the former glamour model.
Kerry Marshall, 18, appeared before Lincoln Crown Court last year and pleaded guilty to five charges of fraud.
She was sentenced last week to a two year supervision order in addition to the restraining sanction.
Marshall withdrew £2,500 from the celebrity’s bank accounts after convincing the branch’s staff she was Katie Price on two separate occasions.
She also purchased a Mazda MX5 sports car and jewellery under the celebrity’s name.
She was identified in CCTV footage which showed a blonde woman in sunglasses withdrawing money from Price’s account at a branch of HSBC.
The trans teenager was apparently able to convince bank staff she was the 33-year-old media personality, who has an estimated net worth of £40 million, after stealing Price’s personal information.
A spokesperson for the bank told the BBC Price’s assets were safe: “The customer concerned has not lost any money at all.
“If anyone is an innocent victim of fraud the money is always protected.”
The BBC also reported that Marshall had been arrested as Price’s home in Sussex last year.
