UK: Muslim anti-gay cleric Abu Hamza in ‘poor health’ ahead of extradition

Lawyers for Abu Hamza have asked the High Court for an injunction so they can carry out further medical tests on the radical anti-gay cleric as he continues to fight his extradition to the US.
They specially want doctors to conduct an MRI scan.
Documents before the court said it would be “oppressive” to send Hamza to the US for trial.
ITV News reports his lawyer, Alun Jones QC, said the “uncontradicted medical opinion” was that a scan was “medically necessary”.
He said a previous judge referred to Hamza’s “very poor health” at an extradition hearing in 2008.
Hamza’s health, along with his extreme views, are well documented.
According to the Mirror, in 2007, he launched a complaint to the prison service after learning that his former care nurse happened to be a gay man.
He is wanted in America over allegations that he plotted to set up a terrorist training camp and also over charges of conspiracy to kidnap Western hostages in Yemen.
