A mother who posted a heartwarming ‘retraction’ of the announcement of the birth of their child after he came out as trans, has spoken out to say she felt she had to show that she supports him 100%.

The family of Kai Bogert wrote a ‘retraction’ of the announcement of his birth, after he transitioned and underwent gender reassignment.

In it they noted that they originally announced the birth of their daughter, but say they should have announced that they have a son.

It reads: “In 1995 we announced the arrival of our sprogget, Elizabeth Anne, as a daughter. He informs us that we were mistaken. Oops! Our bad. We would now like to present our wonderful son Kai Bogert.

“Loving you is the easiest thing in the world. Tidy your room.”

“I needed to show my son I support him 100 percent and wanted to let the world know that,” Yolanda Bogert said.

Kai added: “I am so happy with what she has done. This last week has changed everything for me. I am still me but I am more me than I was a few days ago and feel free.”
