A Republican group has released a bizarre political ad for Presidential hopeful Rand Paul.
This is an actual advert for anti-gay Republican Rand Paul

The ad, released by Paulā€™s Americaā€™s Liberty PAC as a parody of wrestling ads, portrays him shirtless in front of fireballs and the US flag.

It comes ahead of a ā€œshowdownā€ over the Patriot Act ā€“ attacking President Obama ā€œwho wants to read your emailā€ and Republican candidates Lindsay Graham and Ted Cruz.

Republican Senator Rand Paul has previously said he does not believe in the concept of gay rights.

In a video from 2013, Senator Paul said: ā€œI donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever used the words gay rights because I donā€™t believe in rights based on your behaviour.

ā€œIā€™m pro-rights for individuals but Iā€™m not for judging individuals based on their behaviour.ā€

He has previously said he is ā€œoffendedā€ by same-sex marriage, and that it is the result of a ā€œmoral crisisā€.

He said: ā€œIā€™m for traditional marriage. I think marriage is between a man and a woman.

ā€œWe didnā€™t have to call it marriage, which offends myself and a lot of people.

ā€œBut I think competing contracts that would give them equivalency before the law would have solved a lot of these problems and it may be where weā€™re still headed.ā€
