Anti-gay hate preacher Scott Lively has put out an appeal for donations to fund his campaign, suggesting that his base of donors are dying from old age.

The anti-LGBT activist is currently being sued for Crimes Against Humanity for exporting his hatred around the world, and is accused of orchestrating anti-gay sentiment in several countries. He was a vocal supporter of Russia’s anti-gay law, introduced in 2013.

He was sued by Sexual Minorities Uganda (SMUG), after he was a vocal supporter of the country’s ‘kill the gays’ bill.

The case against him is now going to trial, despite his best efforts to have it thrown out.

The hate preacher and founder of the Abiding Truth Ministries, this week sent a memo to supporters, appearing to beg for financial help.

“My friends, SMUG v Lively is truly a David v Goliath battle,” Lively wrote. “I’m running a one-man office on a shoestring budget of less than $120,000 per year, provided almost entirely by donations of $50 and $100 from average people.”

Suggesting that many of his followers are “most elderly”, Lively says he has been having “difficulty” finding new supporters, attributing it to “the success of the anti-Lively propaganda.”

“Frankly, I question whether [Abiding Truth Ministries] will survive the decade without greater support from the individuals scattered across the society who recognize the danger of the LGBT agenda and are willing to stand with us financially against it,” he continues.

According to Queerty, in another letter he writes hopefully “that 2016 will be the year when the LGBT global campaign to homosexualize the world will finally be turned back.”

Lively ran in 2014 for Governor of Massachusetts as an independent candidate, but came dead last, amassing just 19,378 votes out of 2,158,326 – even being beaten by the number of ballot slips turned in blank, at 28,465.
