Top London barrister admits supplying drugs his teen boyfriend overdosed on
A top London barrister has admitted a drugs supply charge after his boyfriend died of an overdose.
18-year-old Miguel Jimenez died of an overdose in January last year at a party in Temple.
His boyfriend, 34-year-old civil barrister Henry Hendron, had faced a number of charges over the death, over the supply of a drug believed to be Mephedrone.
Appearing at the Old Bailey today, Hendron, who had been bailed until this month, pleaded guilty to two counts relating to possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply.
Hendron has represented a number of prominent clients, including Conservative MP Nadine Dorries and Apprentice winner Stella English.
PinkNews understands that just hours after pleading guilty to the drugs charges today, Hendron represented UKIP’s former chair Suzanne Evans in an employment-related case, also heard at the High Court.
Judge Richard Marks QC told Hendron: “You know, I am sure if you fail to attend that in itself would be an offence punishable by imprisonment and in all likelihood the court would sentence you in your absence.
“The fact I am adjourning this matter for a report is no indication.
“This is obviously a serious matter and all options remain open to the court.”
BBC producer Alexander Parkin, 41, admitted two counts of supplying controlled drugs over the same incident earlier this month.
Prosecutor Nathan Miebai said: “The defendant, Mr Hendron, and his partner Mr Jimenez were present at their flat on the evening of January 19 through to January 20, 2015.
“Mr Jimenez was found unresponsive by Mr Hendron on January 20.
“There has been a toxicology analysis which found that Mr Jimenez died of a drug overdose.”
Hendron will be sentenced on May 3.
