Singer Prince dies at home in Minnesota, aged 57
Superstar Prince has died aged 57.
The singer died at his home, his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, confirmed to the Associated Press.
His body was found at his Minnesota compound on Thursday morning.
According to TMZ, “multiple sources” confirmed that the singer had passed away.
Prince Rogers Nelson, known as Prince, was earlier this month forced to have his private jet land early in Illinois, the site reports, due to a medical emergency.
He previously cancelled two shows over health issues.
The singer rose to fame in 1982 with his album 1999.
The international star performed at the 2007 Superbowl, and won seven Grammys, selling more than 100 million records.
Prince’s score for Purple Rain in 1985 won an Oscar for Best Original Score.
