Reality TV star Ollie Locke, from Made in Chelsea, has released his own gay dating app to help in his search for a new love interest.

The app called Chappy, which he created with the help of creators of the dating app Bumble, will stand as a rival against Grindr.

Locke is hoping his new tech, which is set to release next year, will help him and others meet new people.

Talking about the new app, Locke said: “Chappy represents the future of gay dating and we’re thrilled to have an investor and partner as well versed in the market as Whitney and Bumble.

The star is hoping his new venture will lead him to his dream man.

“In addition to fully understanding our ethos and mission to normalise gay dating, Bumble also knows the importance of an app fully recognising the needs of the user.

“We’re very proud to be working with Bumble.”

Locke came out as bisexual in 2011, but recently revealed that he is gay after splitting from his ex-girlfriend Catherine Louise Radford in December last year.

He credits his role on Made in Chelsea for helping him open up about his sexuality.

He said: “For me, this is a big series because I’m talking very openly about gay life, which I have never really done before.

“I lived with a woman last year when I was off camera, we had two dogs together. And then we broke up and in December I thought, ‘That’s it now, I think I’m now gay.'”

Locke has spoken out about his sexual identity numerous times in the past. The star said in March he would ‘go gay for the summer’, but in July he officially came out as gay.

The star has also spoken about HIV in the past, saying the virus ‘tore apart his family’ after his uncle died.
