Woman gives birth after secret IVF donation by George Michael
A woman has given birth after receiving a secret IVF donation from the late George Michael.
Lynette Gillard was gifted an anonymous £9000 IVF donation by the singer after he saw her appear on Deal or No Deal in 2008.
Gillard walked away from the game show with just £3,000.
However, Michael was moved by her fight to get pregnant and decided to give her the donation so she could pay for another round of IVF.
He contacted the bosses on the show on the strict condition that he remain anonymous in his donation.
The donation meant that Gillard and her partner could afford to pay for some medical tests which identified cells in her body which killed embryos.
The condition was treated, but the ninth round of IVF failed.
However, the pair decided to try one last time but Gillard ended up conceiving naturally.
The 38-year-old has now given birth to her son, Seth Logan George Hart.
Gillard, of Greater Manchester, found out where the money came from after Michael died last year on Christmas day.
She told The Sun that she found out she was pregnant the same day that he died.
“I found out I was pregnant on the day he died.
“The first time I held my little boy I said thank you to George. His hit Jesus to a Child was playing and it felt surreal.
“I hope he’s looking down smiling, knowing I have what I’ve always longed for.”
The fitness instructor added that she felt the Wham! star had been with her “every step of the way”.
“He believed in me and gave me hope to keep trying even when I felt it was useless
“His songs were playing on the radio when we went for our first scan and when I was in labour.
“I feel that George has been with me every step of the way,” she added.
