Man ‘punches lesbian in face after she rejects him’

Plymouth Crown Court, which is hearing a case about a lesbian being punched in the face

A man reportedly punched a lesbian in the face and called her a “Spanish whore” after she rejected him, a court has heard.

Olarenwaju Adetunji, who allegedly said that homosexuality is “unnatural,” is on trial at Plymouth Crown Court for assaulting the 26-year-old woman in August 2017, reports Plymouth Live.

The unnamed woman told the court she had let Adetunji sleep in her king-sized bed on August 16 last year, so that he did not have to walk back to his home in Keyham as he was up early in the morning.

She said that Adetunji knew about her sexuality.

The 26-year-old explained that, before the incident, she had been out with friends, including Adetunji, at The Millbridge pub.

She said that Adetunji made a move on her while the pair were in her bed.

Adetunji knew woman is a lesbian

“Suddenly I felt how he licked my ear,” she told the court. “Straight away I jumped out of bed and switched on the light and asked him what he was doing.”

She said that Adetunji got aggressive when she told him that nothing would happen between them.

“He was fuming. He was proper angry and aggressive,” she told the court.

“He told me it was disgusting and it was unnatural for a woman and a woman to lay together and unnatural for a man and a man to lay together.

“He said I was a Spanish whore.”

Woman requires surgery after attack

She told the court that Adetunji punched her three times in the face when she was in the doorway.

The woman said she needed surgery following the assault, which left her with a broken nose.

Adetunji has pled guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm on August 16 2017.

However, he told the court that he hit the woman once and denies that the attack was racially-motivated.

“We were arguing about nonsense,” he told the court. “I cannot even recall what about. My head was hurting and I got up and said I just wanted to leave.”

He said he pushed and hit the woman once, after she punched him in the back of the head.

Adetunji said he had slept with the woman before and thought she was bisexual.

The trial continues.
