Timothée Chalamet has explained that his eye-grabbing costume at this year’s Golden Globes, which was dubbed a “sequin harness,” was meant to be a “bib.”

Chalamet turned heads at the 76th Golden Globes Awards when he dressed in the Louis Vuitton-designed accessory, which he paired with a tailored black shirt and trousers.

Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, Chalamet explained that his raunchy-looking ensemble was not intended to resemble a harness.

“I thought it was a bib―they told me it was a bib,” he told host Ellen DeGeneres.

“I had a friend send me a thing, like, sex dungeon culture is a thing, where you wear harnesses.

“I didn’t do it for that reason.”
