Madonna took to the Eurovision stage in Tel Aviv to perform a classic hit and a track from her upcoming album.

The number opened with Madonna donning a hooded robe atop the stairs of a church door, performing an updated version of hit ‘Like a Prayer’ alongside a choir to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the track.

The performance’s religious setting then turned into a dystopian future as Madonna dropped her robe and was joined by dancers wearing gas masks and horse costumes.

Rapper Quavo joined the iconic singer as they performed ‘Madame X’ track ‘Future’.

The performance ended with two dancers arm in arm wearing flags on the back of their outfits. One wore a Palestine flag, with the other wearing the Israeli flag. Madonna shouted “wake up” before falling backwards off the stage while holding hands with Quavo.

Earlier in the evening, Madonna flirted with Eurovision co-host Assi Azar as she told him to ‘lose’ his husband.

When asked about what advice she would give to the Eurovision finalists, the singer said: “The first thing I would like to say is that you’re all winners no matter what happens.

“The reason I believe that is to get here wasn’t easy. First, you had to have a dream, and you believed in that dream. In my opinion that makes a winner no matter what happens,” she added.

“Look at all the delegates behind us, so many countries that I have been privileged enough to visit and experience, and the one thing that brings me to these countries is music. So let’s never underestimate the power of music to bring people together.”

After the speech, Graham Norton joked that the singer must have been wearing an eye-patch due to a “bad case of conjunctivitis.”
