Kevin Spacey sued by Star Trek actor Anthony Rapp and more over alleged teenage sexual assaults

Kevin Spacey in an orange-brown suit

Kevin Spacey is being sued by actor Anthony Rapp and another man who both accuse him of sexually assaulting them when they were underage boys.

Rapp and a second, unnamed man filed a lawsuit against the disgraced actor Wednesday (September 9), seeking unspecific damages for attacks they allege took place in the 1980s.

Court filings repeat what Rapp has already publicly accused Spacey of: that he tried to seduce him at a New York apartment in 1986, when he was 14 and Spacey was 26.

Rapp, best-known for starring in Star Trek: Discovery, first went public with the allegation in October 2017 at the height of the #MeToo movement.

In response, Spacey said that he didn’t remember the incident, but apologised for any “deeply inappropriate drunken behaviour”.

In the same statement the House of Cards actor came out as gay, a move which prompted a fierce backlash. The allegations effectively ended his career.

Kevin Spacey lawsuit alleges he assaulted a boy he met at an acting class.

A second man, referred to in the lawsuit as CD, claims to have met Spacey at an acting class as a teenager.

He says that the actor invited him to his home on several occasions, where they allegedly engaged in sexual acts. On his final visit, he claims Spacey attempted to sexually assault him.

PinkNews has contacted Spacey’s lawyer for comment on the lawsuit.

Since Rapp came forward with his story, a number of other allegations have been made against Spacey, resulting in several failed legal cases.

In July 2019 a sexual assault charge against Spacey was thrown out after the alleged victim pleaded the Fifth Amendment and refused to testify. The actor had been accused of putting his hand down an 18-year-old’s trousers. He has maintained his innocence.

Later that same year the actor faced a potential criminal case after a massage therapist accused him of forcing him to touch his genitals and asking him for oral sex in a 2016 incident.

However after the accuser died, Spacey escaped any charges.
