Stunning deepfakes put Tom Holland and Pedro Pascal in The Last of Us and Uncharted

Pedro Pascal

Ever since The Mandalorian’s Pedro Pascal was cast as Joel in The Last of Us we’ve been wondering how he’d look in the role. Now, thanks to a deepfake YouTuber, we know.

Last month Pascal was announced as playing the role in the forthcoming HBO TV show based on Naughty Dog’s PlayStation game, with Bella Ramsey as Ellie.

YouTuber stryder HD, known for their deepfake videos, has since created a video of the two actors, providing a glimpse into what they’ll look like.

The six minute video of cut scenes from the game retains the actions and voices of the original actors, but replaces the faces with Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. The results are certainly impressive, though we’re keen to see both actors put their own spin on the characters.

That’s not all – stryder HD has created a whole host of deep fake videos, with Tom Holland becoming his latest subject.

The Spider-Man actor (and Rihanna drag act) will be playing the role of Nathan Drake in a forthcoming Uncharted film – yes another project based on a Naughty Dog series. And thanks to a stryder HD video we can see what he might look like.

The video is taken from PS4 title Uncharted 4 in which Drake is considerably older than Holland, but it still gives an intriguing look at how Holland might look in the role.

Holland is also included in a Detroit: Become Human deep fake, playing the role of android Connor. There are no plans on an adaptation of Quantic Dreams’ game, but Holland would definitely suit the part.

Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann confirmed last month that Game of Thrones actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey would be in HBO’s The Last of Us. Druckmann has co-written the series with Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin.

The TV show was green-lit last year, with no word yet of an official release date.
