Fans are losing their minds over Lil Nas X giving Satan a hot (literally) lap dance in hell, in the music video for his new song “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”.
The video sees Lil Nas X introduce fans to the fantastical world of Montero, named after himself – his real name is Montero Lamar Hill.
As the video opens, he says: “In life, we hide the parts of ourselves we don’t want the world to see. We lock them away, we tell them ‘no’, we banish them. But here, we don’t. Welcome to Montero.”
Lil Nas X is definitely not hiding as he has a make-out session with a snake-bodied, three-eyed alien, gets stoned by Marie Antoinette-style versions of himself, and begins to ascend into the heavens before pole dancing down into hell.
But it was his lap dance for Satan that fans declared was going to “save 2021”.

In the video, once he has descended into hell, Lil Nas X struts into Satan’s fiery palace wearing thigh-high boots and short shorts, and begins grinding on him.
Fans felt they had been unknowingly waiting their whole lives for this moment, with one writing on Twitter: “Lil Nas X giving Satan a lap dance was something I desperately needed 20 years ago, but I’m glad its here now.”
Another said: “Lil Nas X bottoming for Satan is definitely my favourite music video moment since Gaga and Beyoncé busted out of that prison.”
A third fan wrote: “Watching Lil Nas X give the devil a lap dance wasn’t how I thought I’d start my day, but it will be how I start my day from now on.”

Finishing off his lap dance, Lil Nas X then breaks the devil’s neck, dons his Satanic horns and, sprouting black feathered wings, becomes the new, unapologetically queer king of the underworld.
