The set of face masks modelled by Demi on their social media is inspired by the colours of the non-binary flag.

In May 2021 Lovato publicly came out as non-binary, revealing that their pronouns are “they/them”.

Lovato told their fans in a video that they/them pronouns capture “the fluidity I feel in my gender expression, and allows me to feel most authentic and true to the person I both know I am and still am discovering.”

In a further tweet thread the star added: “Not only has my life been a journey for myself, I was also living for those on the other side of the cameras.

“Today is a day I’m so happy to share more of my life with you all – I am proud to let you know that I identify as non-binary and will officially be changing my pronouns to they/them moving forward.”

The collaboration sees Demi and Henry Masks use the yellow, white, purple and black stripes from the non-binary flag to create the pack.

It includes four mask designs, featuring one with the non-binary flag, a butterfly mask and two masks in a retro design in the colours of the flag.

The set is priced at $49.50 and it will support a cause who’s mission is to help “young people and their families as they navigate their gender journey.”

The collection will see 25 per cent of proceeds donated to The Center for Transyouth Health and Development at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Demi says: “My hope is that we can help make the next generation’s gender journey one of compassion and make everyone feel welcomed and understood for being their true authentic selves.”
