Dolly Parton to star in film version of her novel ‘Run, Rose, Run’ because there’s nothing she can’t do

Dolly Parton is starring in the film adaptation of her own novel, Run, Rose, Run and we can’t wait.
The country icon will also produce the film alongside Reese Witherspoon and her co-author James Patterson.
Witherspoon says that Parton “is not only an icon to me, but a true inspiration to women and girls everywhere”.
The film will be produced by media company, Hello Sunshine, which was also been behind Oscar nominated films Wild and Gone Girl and hit TV series Big Little Lies.
In a statement Witherspoon said: “Growing up in Nashville, I’ve loved Dolly since the moment I heard her magical voice and saw her luminous personality shine onstage.
“Beyond her magnetic presence as an artist and performer, she is one of the greatest songwriters and storytellers of our time. Her impact knows no bounds – as a musician, actor, writer, businesswoman, activist and all around incredible human being.”

Talking about the book, she adds: “My admiration for her grew to even greater heights when reading Run, Rose, Run a gripping and heartbreaking book I couldn’t put down. I couldn’t feel more honoured to be working alongside her and James to bring this remarkable story to the screen.”
Parton added that she’s “proud, excited and honoured to be working with my good friend Reese Witherspoon” on the project.
Run, Rose, Run was released earlier this month and went on to top The New York Times bestseller list.
The story follows a young singer-songwriter on the rise and on the run, determined to do whatever it takes to survive.
“Nashville is where she’s come to claim her destiny. It’s also where the darkness she’s fled might find her. And destroy her,” the plot reads.
Parton also released an album of the same name to coincide with the release of the book, featuring songs based on the characters.

Dolly Parton bows out of Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nomination
The singer recently “respectfully” declined her nomination for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, saying she hasn’t “earned the right” and doesn’t want to split the votes.
Parton, who was nominated alongside the likes of Kate Bush, Rage Against the Machine, Carly Simon, explained that while she is “flattered”, she doesn’t consider herself a “rock and roll” artist.
In her statement, she added: “This has, however, inspired me to put out a hopefully great rock ‘n’ roll album at some point in the future, which I have always wanted to do!”
