EastEnders airs perfect piece of high camp drama – complete with a surprising Drag Race cameo

EastEnders features cameo from Tempest DuJour

If there’s one thing you can always expect from EastEnders, it’s an epic moment of high camp drama that’ll leave viewers gagged for days.

However, the BBC soap opera might have just gifted fans with the most iconic scene yet – and it’s all thanks to an unexpected appearance from RuPaul’s Drag Race star Tempest DuJour.

It all began when Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf) made her return to Walford, much to the annoyance of her long time rival Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).

As two of the most feisty characters in EastEnders history, it was always going to be a treat to watch this pair face off.

So when the pair find themselves face-to-face, it soon turned into a war of words that saw Sam bragging about the time she slept with Sharon’s father, Den “Dirty Den” Watts.

This led Sharon to chuck a glass of wine in Sam’s face before she replied: “We’ve had Brexit and Covid, we don’t need you here. Go home, Sam!”

The s**t (or should we say wine) well and truly hit the fan!

Sharon then grabbed her purse and stormed away while Sam was left reeling and trying to catch her breath.

With all that chaos going on, some viewers couldn’t believe their eyes when they realised the scene also feature several images of RuPaul’s Drag Race alumna Tempest Dujour on the walls.

In fact, one picture of the season seven favourite in a green feather ensemble proves a green halo for Sharon in some close-up shots, while a larger image of Tempest saw the drag queen smiling down over the intense conversation.

“just when this scene wasn’t camp enough, you the realisation that there are pictures of tempest du jour from s7 of drag race plastered all over the walls,” one fan commented on Twitter.

Another wrote, “stop ? WHY IS TEMPEST THERE”, while one fan added: “IM SCREAMING WTF????.”

“This made me spit up my drink!! BRAVO!!” another viewer stated.

Now we’re going to need to see the real Tempest – real name Patrick Holt – making their way down to Walford ASAP.
