The créme de la créme of Australian drag and cabaret is landing in London for the legendary Underbelly Festival.

Underbelly Festival has unveiled details of Yummy: Iconic, a wild new drag show from the award-winning cabaret troupe Yummy which opens on July 5, running until July 30 at London’s Cavenish Square.

If you’re not already familiar with Yummy, the troupe began life as a notorious club night in Melbourne before gaining global recognition. It’s renowned for its unique combination of breathtaking burlesque, cutting-edge circus acts and salacious comedy.

Since 2015, Yummy has performed at over 50 festivals across the world, picking up multiple awards along the way including Best Cabaret at Fringe World 2019 and the People’s Choice Award at Melbourne Fringe 2021.

In Iconic, the troupe promises to “subvert cultural icons, legends and superstars” with the help of its stellar cast. Yummy boasts the acclaimed dancer and choreographer Bendy Ben, known for their use of masks and twisting of gender norms, and DJ, drag artiste and “non-binary wet dream” Jandruze.

Also on board to stun audiences this July are actress, dancer and mother of the house of Luna, Karlee Misi, and bona fide Yummy veteran Valerie Hex. Podcaster and burlesque legend Velma Vouloir will also be present to ensure jaws remain on the floor at all times with her sensual performance style – typically combining dance, pole, and aerial hoop – her fiery femme fatale stage persona and steely precision.

Rounding off the cast is the esteemed circus performer Jarred Dewey, best known for his lithe virtuosity and distinct sense of design. Beloved for both their mindblowing costumes and world-class stage prowess, this group of genderbending stars are guaranteed to shock and amaze London audiences in equal measures.

The show marks the troupe’s first return to the UK since its rapturous run in Underbelly Festival 2019 on London’s Southbank.

Yummy: Iconic will be hosted in Underbelly’s majestic Spiegeltent, nestled in the heart of the West End, just off Oxford Street in Cavendish Square. In addition to Yummy’s jawdropping cabaret performances, the tent will also play host to nightly comedy shows from an unbeatable line-up of the UK’s finest stand-up comedians.
