Cynthia Erivo has announced her second album, titled I Forgive You, and thanked her fans “for coming with me on this journey”.

The Wicked star announced on Thursday (10 April) that her sophomore album is set to arrive on 6 June via Verve Records/Republic Records. Following the performer’s involvement in co-writing and recording a new song in Wicked: For Good, Erivo is continuing her songwriting streak with co-writing credits on every track of her upcoming album.

The queer star and LGBTQ+ advocate introduced her new album with her second single, “Worst of Me”, which follows her first single from the album, “Replay”.

She took to Instagram to make the announcement: “Over the last 2+ years, between all the flights, the filming, the interviews, and the awards shows, I went to the studio with my dear friend [Will Wells, who is the songwriter and producer on ‘I Forgive You‘] and created this project for you and me.

“This album, this collection of songs, is something I’m so proud to share with you. First with ‘Replay,’ and now/today/tonight with ‘Worst of Me’. I gave you one chapter with the first album, and now I have a couple more for you. Thank you in advance for coming with me on this journey.”

Aside from her album launch later this year, Erivo is set for a jam-packed 2025: The queer actress is gearing up to host the Tony Awards, is starring as Jesus Christ in a Hollywood Bowl production of Jesus Christ Superstar and is performing at WorldPride in Washington, D.C. Not to mention, Erivo is reviving her role as the green witch in Wicked: For Good, which launches on 21 November.

I Forgive You by Cynthia Erivo lands on 6 June.
