Alex Consani and Hunter Schafer were among the best-dressed at the 2025 Met Gala; the two trans stars showcased stunning lewks.
Stepping onto the blue carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on the First Monday of May, the pair both put their own spin on the menswear dress code and reinvented the meaning of suit tailoring. All the while, they slayed the house down (boots).
This year’s gala theme, based on the museum’s exhibition, was ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’. Also, the dress code was ‘Tailored for You’. This Met Gala’s co-chairs included Emmy award-winner Colman Domingo, Formula One racer Lewis Hamilton, rapper A$AP Rocky, musician and producer Pharrell Williams, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
Alex Consani stuns with her Met debut
Though the dress code nods to menswear and suiting, trans model Alex Consani brought her own spin to the theme with a Swarovski crystal-encrusted suitdress.
The 21-year-old American model made a statement for her Met Gala debut, draped in 32,900 crystals. It’s another major milestone for the star after she made history as the first trans woman to be named 2024 Model of the Year by the British Fashion Council.

With a plunging neckline and side cutouts, Consani’s cream suitdress is one of the most chic looks of the night.
Speaking to British Vogue, Consani cited the late Vogue editor André Leon Talley and designer Patrick Kelly as her inspiration.
“I think it’s important to pay homage and also look at how we can incorporate [Black dandyism] in the future of fashion as well,” she said.
“Not just let this be a moment in time, but let this be a lesson for everybody to educate themselves on the history of fashion, because it runs so much deeper than what we see online.”
Hunter Schafer redefines “menswear”
Consani was joined on the carpet by Euphoria star Schafer, who modelled a custom Prada black-and-white, multilayered suit.
The 26-year-old wore a ribbed white turtleneck, white shirt, double-breasted white jacket, and black blazer over her shoulders. Her look plays with proportions and silhouettes, and she pulled it all off fabulously.
Her accessories of a white beret and white leather gloves finished off the badass, sophisticated look. She proves menswear looks just as good, even better, on women.

“I don’t know when the last time I wore a suit on a carpet… but I’m comfortable, I can breathe. I was dancing in the van on the way here,” she told Vogue after walking the carpet.
After wearing gowns for years, she said that wearing a suit was a fun change-up.
Schafer continued: “I feel like I knew what a Prada girl was, but I found her inside of myself. I am a Prada girl. I feel it.”
This is Schafer’s second Met, after her debut in 2021, where she wore a dystopian sci-fi look comprised of a Prada metallic silver top, matching maxi skirt and alien-like silver spider on her face.
