ABBA icons Benny Andersson and Frida Lyngstad became dancing queens for the evening as they reunited last night (27 May) to celebrate ABBA Voyage’s third anniversary.
The pair, who were previously married during their time in the ’70s Swedish pop group, were pictured chatting in the crowd at the ABBA Voyage show in London.
The critically-acclaimed virtual concert residency in Stratford, London, was marking its third year in the capital.
Ahead of their holographic doppelgängers taking the stage, the pair shared a few words of gratitude with the shocked audience.
“Thank you for all your support over the years. It’s hard to imagine it’s 50 years,” Lyndtsad said, before bellowing: “I’m turning 80 this year!”
“I love you. Thank you,” she added, to rapturous cheers and applause.
Andersson then took a moment to play with the crowd, teasing a joke: “Two guys come into a bar…”
Andersson and Lyngstad met in 1969 before getting wed in 1978, during the height of ABBA’s success. They separated in 1980 before divorcing in 1981.
The other pair to ABBA’s quartet, also previously married couple Björn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Fältskog, weren’t present at the celebration.
Lyngstad appeared stylish in a cream top and matching, wide-leg trousers and designer bag, while Andersson rocked a spacey, thigh-length shirt and dark bottoms.

Photos of the pair appeared on the official ABBA Voyage Instagram page, alongside the caption: “Celebrating our Third Anniversary with Benny Andersson, Frida Lyngstad and our ABBA Voyage producers, Svana Gisla and Ludvig Andersson!”
After the show, the duo surprised a select number of guests with a short performance, with Andersson playing piano alongside Elvis Costello, with singer-songwriter Guy Garvey on vocals for a few of ABBA’s greatest hits.
Lyngstad then took the mic to sing a few bars while Andersson continued on the piano.
The appearance of Benny Andersson and Frida Lyngstad wasn’t the only surprise in store for revellers at last night’s ABBA Voyage show, as the setlist has reportedly changed to mark the third anniversary.
According to The Mirror, major ABBA hits “Super Trouper”, “Money, Money, Money”, and “The Name of the Game” have now been added to the setlist.

Other ABBA hits including their 1974 Eurovision-winning song “Waterloo”, “The Winner Takes It All”, “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” and of course “Dancing Queen” are already present on the setlist.
ABBA Voyage first began in London in 2022, to mark 50 years since the band began, and 40 years since they split.
In 2021, the group released their first music in 40 years to coincide with the announcement of ABBA Voyage. They released their ninth studio album Voyage, alongside singles “Don’t Shut Me Down” and “I Still Have Faith In You”.
Tickets for ABBA Voyage are available now.
