Christmas has come early, people! Mariah Carey has announced her 16th studio album Here For It All, marking her first in seven years.
The “Obsessed” hitmaker took to social media on Monday (21 July) to drop the news of her upcoming release, titled Here For It All, which follows on from her 2018 full-length release Caution.
The announcement video sees the star walking on set in sky-high boots, while the title of the album flashes on-screen. The announcement video also appears to feature a teaser of the title track, “Here For It All”, which Carey sings a cappella.
But there’s even more Mariah Carey goodness where that comes from. The “Honey” singer has also appeared to tease even more music from the upcoming album.
In another social media clip, the singer teased an unreleased track, which appears to be titled “Sugar Sweet”. Whilst baking in full-glam (as you do) to promote the upcoming song, Carey sings: “I’m-a keep it nice/ I’m-a keep it neat/ I’m-a keep it sugar/ I’m-a keep it sweet.”
And fans won’t need to wait long for her new album to drop, as the star has also announced its release date is 26 September.
The iconic singer has been drumming up anticipation for new music after recently being announced for a “UK festival exclusive” performance at Brighton Pride, as well as releasing her latest single “Type Dangerous” in June, which marks her first standalone track since 2019’s “In The Mix”.
Last year, Carey teamed up with Ariana Grande on her “yes, and?” remix from Grande’s hugely successful album Eternal Sunshine. The Wicked actress credited Carey as being her “lifelong inspiration” after announcing the collab.
Carey has yet to announce a track listing for Here For It All, nor any featured artists (if any). Keep checking back for updates. The album is available to pre-order now.
