Candace Owens ‘pours gasoline’ on Brigitte Macron lawsuit by doubling down on trans claims

Political commentator Candace Owens has “poured gasoline” on the Brigitte Macron lawsuit by doubling down on false claims that the French first lady is trans.
On 23 July, the French president and his wife Brigitte Macron filed a defamation lawsuit against the American far-right political commentator.
In the lawsuit, the Macrons describe Owens’ alleged actions, which included releasing an eight-part audio and video series on the false trans conspiracy theory, as a “relentless and unjustified smear campaign”.
However, instead of apologising, Candace Owens has doubled down on the false claims.
An X user quote-tweeted the commentator’s latest video, writing: “Candace Owens just poured gasoline on the Macron lawsuit, straight-up telling Brigitte, ‘You were born a man and you’ll die a man… See you in court.’”
They added that :“She’s pledging to fight ‘on behalf of the entire world,’ daring the French First Family to drag this into discovery.”
In the video, Candace Owens also asked for photos of Brigitte Macron growing up and for a sample of her blood.
She concluded the video, saying: “We’re revolting against this. We’re revolting against the perverts that run the world… I think you’re sick, I think you’re disgusting,” she said, claiming she’s rallying against them “on behalf of the entire world.”

The right-wing influencer, who has called LGBTQ+ people a “sexual plague on society”, has become well-known for her offensive claims about LGBTQ+ people.
Previously she said TikTok was “socially engineering” men to be gay, and was reportedly suspended from YouTube for violating the platform’s hate policies.
She has also claimed that JoJo Siwa was “lying” about being queer, labelled anyone shopping at Target “gay” and a “pervert”, called “transgenderism” a “cancer”, and praised Donald Trump as a “feminist icon” because of his opposition to trans rights.
