Legendary composer Hans Zimmer will join forces with Labrinth to score Euphoria season three

Hans Zimmer has joined Euphoria and will help score the third season of the HBO series.
The Oscar-winner, whose legendary work includes Interstellar and Gladiator was announced to be stepping into his new role on Wednesday (23 July). He will be working alongside Labrinth, who worked on the music for Euphoria‘s first two seasons.
In a statement posted to Instagram Zimmer said, “It’s an honor to join this incredible team of storytellers led by the visionary Sam Levinson. Together, they have crafted such a bold and moving series that has meant so much to audiences. Labrinth’s music has shaped the show’s identity and I’m looking forward to contributing to the ongoing story and helping shape this new season through music.”
Labrinth returned the love while celebrating “another chapter in the Euphoria universe!” He also wrote, “So great to join Hans, one of my heroes in film score, and bring some new magic to this new season. Love x.”
And Sam Levinson, the creator of Euphoria, said it was “a true honor” to have Zimmer join. “I wrote this season to the score of Interstellar and True Romance. So he’s been ingrained in the creative DNA since the beginning. I’m really proud of the work Labrinth and I have done in previous seasons and am excited for Hans to push us to new heights.”
The third season of Euphoria entered production in April after several delays, including the death of actor Angus Cloud who played Fezco. He was believed to have been a key role in season three, meaning the script had to go through rewrites.
HBO has said the new season will begin with a time jump taking the main characters out of high school. Other than that, very little is know about the plot of the third season.
In May, Sydney Sweeney, who plays Cassie, said the season as “unhinged.” And in June, Eric Dane confirmed filming was underway but that he hadn’t filmed anything yet. “I don’t know exactly what it is I’m doing per se,” he said. “But I trust Sam Levinson with every fibre of my being,” he added.
Almost all of the principal cast are confirmed or expected to return. That includes Zendaya, Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Dane, Alexa Demie, and Maude Apatow. Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry, Colman Domingo and Dominic Fike are also thought to be returning. They will be joined by newcomers including Sharon Stone, Rosalía and Marshawn Lynch.
