Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, have reportedly put their Cotswolds farm up for sale through Sotheby’s International Realty after confirming their reason for fleeing the US.
The lesbian star, who hosted The Ellen DeGeneres Show in America between 2003 and 2022, moved to the UK’s idyllic Cotswolds region in late 2024 with her wife, Arrested Development actress Portia de Rossi.
They have now put their Cotswolds farm estate up for sale at a hefty $30 million, after purchasing it for $20 million in spring 2024, Andrew Barnes of UK Sotheby’s International Realty told The Wall Street Journal.
The couple moved to England following Donald Trump’s election win back in November. This month, Ellen DeGeneres confirmed that their reason for moving was “because of Trump,” and shared that the pair plan to remarry in the UK.
According to Barnes, after living on the estate for a month, the couple have chosen to relocate to a home that can better accommodate their animals.

The comedian explained: “When we decided to live here full time, we knew that Portia couldn’t live without her horses. We needed a home that had a horse facility and pastures for them.”
The couple completed extensive renovations on the estate, now up for sale, which features seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a modern design, including a glass walkway connecting parts of the property.
It also boasts 43 acres, a heated swimming pool, a party barn with its own pub, and a heated five-car garage, to name just a few of its standout features.
In May, DeGeneres gave fans a peek at what her new life is like in the English countryside. “Some people have a dream of becoming a farmer, clearly our dream was to become a landscape maintenance crew with a little farming on the side,” they wrote on Instagram. In a clip, shared on 7 May, DeGeneres is seen in jeans and a t-shirt as she trims bushes, saying: “Ow, these are sharp even through the gloves.”
De Rossi is then shown using a garden trimmer to tidy up another bush, while DeGeneres calls out: “Good job, baby,” before beginning to feed their chickens.
Then, in June, DeGeneres shared a cute clip of sheep inside her Cotswolds farm, saying “we have house sheep” after the animals wandered inside the property.
In March, DeGeneres put one of her last remaining homes in the plush Californian enclave of Montecito up for sale, with an asking price of $5 million (£3.9 million). The following month, she shared a look at the view from her home in the Cotswolds.
At the end of last year, Netflix dropped Ellen DeGeneres: For Your Approval, her first major body of work since her controversial talk show came to an end.
