Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday, except perhaps watching Mariah Carey headline Brighton Pride in a few days time.

It appears Mimi knows it, too. In a recent post on TikTok, the “Obsessed” singer and ultimate diva revealed that she is on her way to Brighton for her headline performance, and used the viral Jet2holdiays audio to soundtrack her departure.

In the short but oh-so-sweet clip, Carey walks in slow motion across an airport apron, before elegantly strutting up the steps of a blue and yellow private jet.

She’s decked out in a black Prada dress, matching oversized black sunglasses, and what looks like black Louboutin boots.

“Nothing beats going to Brighton Pride,” she quipped in the video’s caption, alongside a Pride flag emoji.

In lieu of 2025 having a proper song of the summer, the internet has crowned the Jet2holidays audio as the summer’s biggest hit.

The sound begins with audio from the number one song “Hold My Hand” by queer singer Jess Glynne, before launching into a 2022 advert for the airline.

It’s been used on almost two million videos, the bulk of which have been posted this summer. The audio is frequently used to soundtrack videos of major holiday mishaps.

The woman behind the Jet2holidays voiceover is Zoë Lister, who played Zoe Carpenter in British soap Hollyoaks. The character was famously involved in a queer love triangle, which resulted in a fatal parachute accident.

Reacting to Carey’ hilarious clip, one fan wrote: “Mariah you’re hysterical. This is why I love you. Your humour for me is one of your best qualities, I can’t wait to see you at Brighton Pride me and my husband will be there.”

Jet2 jokingly wrote “We belong together” in the comment section, referring to Carey’s chart-topping 2005 hit of the same name.

Mariah Carey will headline Pride in the Park at Brighton Pride on Saturday 2 August, with queer artists Slayyyter, Loreen, and Ashnikko supporting.

British girl band Sugababes will headline on Sunday 3 August, supported by Will Young, Natalie Imbruglia, and Jodie Harsh.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar recently, 56-year-old Carey said that she resists ageing by refusing to acknowledge time.

“I don’t allow it – it just doesn’t happen,” she said. “I don’t know time. I don’t know numbers. I do not acknowledge time – I have a new song that starts with that line.”

On Friday, Carey released “Sugar Sweet” featuring Shenseea and Kehlani as the second single from her recently announced 16th studio album, Here for It All.
