Straight-talking, internet-breaking, estranged-father-bashing icon Vivian Jenna Wilson is the latest guest star on RuPaul’s Drag Race star Maddy Morphosis’s podcast, Give It To Me Straight.

Across more than an hour, the duo delved into 21-year-old Wilson’s experience of coming out, how she dealt with gender dysphoria, what she wants next from her vast and rapidly exploding career, and why people should ‘bully’ incels.

Of course, she didn’t let the episode end without whacking her billionaire tech bro father Elon Musk.

Asked about him, she quipped: “Who?”

When Maddy described him as someone in politics, she instantly responded: “Not anymore”. Icon.

Here are six (and one bonus) things we learnt from Vivian’s sit down chat with Maddy Morphosis.

1. Her iconic reaction to Elon Musk’s “woke mind virus” comment

In July 2024, Jenna Wilson’s estranged father Elon Musk said in an interview that she had been “killed by the woke mind virus”, as she had come out as trans. Musk deadnamed her throughout the interview, and Wilson responded publicly as appropriate, telling him: “Go touch some f**king grass.”

Speaking to Maddy Morphosis, Wilson revealed the hilarious way she reacted in the moment after seeing Musk’s comments while away studying in Japan.

“I woke up, ‘cos I was in Tokyo. I look at my phone and I’m like, ‘wow. Ha wow.’ And then I went to the convenience store and I got a gin and tonic,” she shared.

“And then I played Smash Brothers. I actually got really f**king good at Smash Brothers that day, because to distract myself I was very drunk. Don’t do that! Not a good coping mechanism. It was just, I woke up one day, and I was like ‘Oh, there it is.’”

2. Her gender dysphoria and thoughts on transmedicalism

Vivian Jenna Wilson spoke to Maddy about her experience of gender dysphoria, revealing that she was 13-years-old when she realised that she’s trans.

“It was right when puberty started. I was like, this is wrong. There is this unique type of… it’s actually the inspiration for a lot of body horrors. It’s why a lot of trans people really like body horrors because you kind of live it when you go through puberty,” she said.

“If you’re trans you’re going through puberty and you recognise that you’re trans… well I did. I had really bad gender dysphoria.”

Wilson clarified that you do not need to experience gender dysphoria to be a trans person, and shared some of her thoughts on the concept of ‘transmedicalism’.

‘Transmedicalism’ relates to the idea that being transgender requires a medical diagnosis of gender dysphoria, which can then be alleviated through medical intervention, such as gender-affirming surgery.

“I’m not transmedicalist,” Wilson said. “I just had gender dysphoria. You’re still valid if you don’t, don’t f**king cancel me, thank you.

“Here’s the thing, there’s so much that I don’t understand about transmedicalism. It’s like Kim, there’s people that are dying and you’re over here on the internet being so p***ed off about whether or not people can call themselves trans. It’s like, some people have war in their countries.”

She added: “A lot of people when they first come out as trans are so desperate to be validated that they tear down other people and I was unfortunately this person. We live and we learn. We grow.”

3. She’s not dating, but she’s not not up for dating

Maddy rounded off her chat with Wilson by questioning her on her romantic life. The model confirmed that she’s not on any dating apps, and is at the moment “very single”.

“I guess I’m looking but I’m not actively thinking about it,” she said.

Wilson, who is bisexual, went on to share a little about her types, revealing that she is attracted to “butch” and “muscular” women, and her ideal man is…. Jinu from KPop Demon Hunters.

4. She’s keen to take her drag career further

After making her debut drag performance in June, Wilson shared that she’s up for getting better at the artform and would one day – in the distant future – be up for a RuPaul’s Drag Race appearance.

“I’m interested in doing drag further. I am really bad at makeup though I will fully admit. That’s my Achilles’ heel, I’m really f**king bad at makeup which always surprises people for some reason. I’m learning makeup now,” she shared.

“I’ve had the bug for a while, I guess. The thing I like about drag isn’t the makeup, it’s the performance of it. But I do like the makeup. I don’t wear makeup on the day-to-day.”

Asked by Maddy whether she’d rather be a Drag Race guest judge or a competitor, she said: “I’d have to get good at drag first. I should get good at drag. I don’t want to get eliminated first, or third. I think it’d be more fun to be a contestant, but I’m gonna have to get really good at drag first.”

5. She’s sort of expanding her résumé into acting

Maddy revealed on the podcast that Wilson will soon be starring in a yet-to-be-released short film. “How the f**k did you find this?,” replied the gagged TikTok star, as the news isn’t quite public yet.

She went on to share that she is interested in acting, though it would be more of a “fun little hobby” than an addition to her ever-growing résumé, which currently includes drag queen, model, and social media influencer.

“Maybe, yeah, kinda. I like it,” she shared when grilled on whether she’d become an actress.

“I’m kinda taking classes, so, for voice acting actually. I’m starting to take classes. I haven’t learned anything yet ‘cos I’m starting classes soon. That’s just a fun little hobby of mine. It’s probably not going to go anywhere. If it does, OK!”

6. She’s planning to become Twitch streamer

In addition to contemplating acting and more drag work, Wilson is toying with the idea of becoming a Twitch streamer – and even has a username set up.

“I do wanna do Twitch,” she shared. “OK here’s the the thing… I’m literally getting my PC parts together. My friend made me a list, love her. I’m assembling it with help. I have the username. I literally got that as I got famous ‘cos I was like, ‘Maybe I will do something with this later.’ I haven’t yet.”

Asked what kind of content she would use Twitch for, Wilson said: “I don’t know. I think I will do a little mix of everything depending on how I feel that day. I have some ideas but I don’t wanna say them just in case I don’t do them. What if I change my mind?”
