John Cena’s Peacemaker set to enjoy bisexual orgy in season two of HBO show

John Cena is back for Peacemaker season two on HBO, and this time, he’s bringing all his friends, as the titular superhero is set to enjoy a delightfully steamy, bisexual orgy.
In the trailer for the second season of James Gunn’s DC comic book based series, Cena’s Chris Smith – aka Peacemaker – is confronted by his friend Adrian – aka Vigilante, played by Freddie Stroma – for having a “party” and not inviting him to it.
As the door to Peacemaker’s apartment opens, it becomes clear that the party took place while everyone involved, including men, women and everyone in between, were completely stark naked.
“What’s all this?” Adrian questions.
“I had some people over…” responds Peacemaker gingerly.
“Oh, I see? You have a party, you don’t even invite me?” comes Adrian’s antsy reply.
“You don’t even seem that into sex!” says Peacemaker.
“I’m into sex ‘cause like a lot of people, it’s an opportunity to bond with my best friend” Adrian hits back.
“That’s not like a lot of people,” Peacemaker retorts.
It’s been two and a half years since Peacemaker season one first launched on HBO, and for those who did give the first outing a watch, the sexuality of Cena’s hero isn’t exactly a surprise.
In 2022, Gunn revealed that it was Cena’s idea to make his mercenary a sexually open being.
“Peacemaker is an interesting character because he’s so f****d up in so many ways, and then in other ways, he is kind of weirdly forward-thinking,” Gunn told Empire magazine in 2022.
“John does improv all the time, and he just turned Christopher Smith into this hyper-sexualized dude that is open to anything sexually. I was surprised by that. But I thought, ‘I guess it makes sense that this guy isn’t one-dimensional.'”
Gunn and Cena are currently doing the rounds as part of the show’s season two press tour, and during a recent game of ‘Would You Rather’, Cena reaffirmed that Peacemaker is very much into anything and everything in the bedroom.
In the clip, Gunn posits to Cena: “Alright, you can stop an alien invasion, but you’d have to eliminated one of these. A) an alien intruder disguised as a bald eagle; or B) your Tinder date for the night.”
“I don’t think he would eliminate a bald eagle, and if he… had to eliminate a Tinder date, he would just go to Grindr and find another date,” Cena responded.
“The great thing about Peacemaker is that all apps are welcome, all the time.”
John Cena has long been a staunch LGBTQ+ ally, having revealed last year that he got into fights in childhood while standing up for his gay brother.
“Life was tough for my brother in high school. Not only was he an introvert and interested in computers. He’s also gay…. man, that’s an uphill climb,” he said on the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast.
“He just had a lot of character traits that weren’t in the ‘cool kid’ group, and he’s also holding this secret that he can’t tell or talk to anybody about.”
He continued: “I really feel for what it must have been like for him growing up. But I also inherited that chapter of his social constructs. And, man, it got me to learn how to lose a few fights.”
Peacemaker season two touches down on HBO on 21 August.
