Global girl group KATSEYE have gagged fans with an instantly iconic GAP jeans campaign, which fans are dubbing the “best denim ad ever”.
The six HYBE x Geffen Records band members have been gaining worldwide recognition since their debut last year, even snatching their first VMA nomination earlier this month.
Members Lara Raj and Megan Skiendiel, who came out as LGBTQ+ earlier this year, and Sophia Laforteza, Manon Bannerman, Daniela Avanzini and Yoonchae Jeong, are now featured in Gap’s latest denim campaign, titled Better in Denim.
Directed by Bethany Vargas, the mastermind behind Lady Gaga’s “Abracadabra” music video, the Autumn 2025 campaign uplifts diversity and originality with the help of the “Gabriela” hitmakers’ impressive choreography skills.
“This is denim as you define it. Your individuality. Your self-expression. Your style. Powerful on your own. Even better together,” the brand wrote on Instagram.
Reminiscent of a Y2K music video rather than an advert, all six members and a plethora of fellow dancers showcase their performance chops to Kelis’ famed 2003 track, “Milkshake”. And it’s safe to say, EYEKONS (iykyk) are gagged by the advert.
“Now THIS is an ad for jeans,” commented one fan. “This could’ve been an official MV btw,” added another.
“THAT is an ad about jeans,” added a third. “Bringing new meaning to the phrase eyekonic,” wrote a fourth.
Another fan commented: “Just watched and they will take ALL of my money. Inclusivity and diversity are always going to get my coin.”
“I love how they made all the denim pieces all different shapes, sizes AND colours, just like how our genes are!”, another viewer noted.
KATSEYE’s Gap advert is not the only jeans campaign to make a splash this summer; Sydney Sweeney recently faced backlash over her controversial American Eagle advert.
