The ever-expanding RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise has announced its newest vs. the World spinoff – and we’re heading Down Under, baby.
After three seasons hosted by RuPaul herself, and a fourth and most reason instalment fronted by Michelle Visage, the undisputed underdog of the Drag Race Runiverse – Drag Race Down Under – has got its own spinoff.
Announced today, Drag Race Down Under vs. the World will follow in the footsteps of four previous vs. the World seasons (two in the UK and two in Canada) by gathering competitors from across the globe to battle for a crown.
“The global battle heads down under,” an announcement to social media via Drag Race production company World of Wonder confirmed.

The season will be again hosted by Michelle Visage, and Down Under permanent judge Rhys Nicholson – and season four winner Lazy Susan joining the panel.
Drag Race Down Under was hosted by RuPaul from its inception in 2021, for its first three seasons. Visage, who is RuPaul’s right-hand-woman on the flagship and Drag Race UK series, assumed hosting responsibilities for season four in 2024, after RuPaul stepped down.
Typically comprised of a cast of nine to eleven queens, with multiple entrants from the host nation and a varying number of competitors from other global Drag Race franchises, the spinoff format kicked off in 2022 with the first Drag Race UK vs. the World franchise. It was won by Blu Hydrangea.
The first Canada vs. the World series was won by flagship franchise star Ra’Jah O’Hara later that year. Tia Kofi won the second Drag Race UK vs. the World series in 2024, and Lemon (Canada’s Drag Race) won the second Canada vs. the World series the same year.
Elsewhere in the all-encompassing Drag Race ecosystem, Drag Race UK recently announced its sickening season seven cast, and season 18 – and All Stars 11 – were renewed officially.
