Married at First Sight (MAFS) UK star Ella Morgan has claimed that a well-known celebrity called her a transphobic slur in a nasty swipe behind her back.

Ella, who was the first-ever transgender Married At First Sight contestant and uses her platform to speak in support of trans rights, opened up about not being a fan of two unnamed “people in the public eye” while appearing on the Fed Up talk show.

She shared: “There’s definitely two people in the public eye that I’m not a fan of because they are really fake.

“One of them really wasn’t very nice about me, she doesn’t know that I know actually so this will be the first time she’s heard back. She referred to me as a t****y to one of my friends who then told me.”

Ella, who appeared on Married at First Sight UK in 2023, becoming the first openly trans bride, continued: “And apparently she’s quite jealous of me. That baffles me because she’s a lot more well known and got way more followers than me.”

The reality TV star described the person is “quite fake,” adding that there’s another in the industry who she also finds “really fake”. “I don’t warm to them, whereas what you see with me is what you get,” she said.

Following the UK Supreme Court‘s ruling on that the legal definition of a woman under the Equality Act does not include trans women, Ella Morgan told PinkNews that it was the first time since her own transition and entry into public life that she’s genuinely been “scared” for herself and others.

Ella candidly spoke about her transition at the end of last year, sharing a number of photos on Instagram from when she was a child, as well as of herself lying in a hospital bed, presumably while she was undergoing gender-affirming care.

“I am simply a girl who was born in the wrong body. My outside now matches how I’ve always felt inside. I didn’t want to become a girl; I am, and have always been, a girl,” she wrote.

Part of Ella Morgan’s activism is expressed through her styling. In May, the star took to the TV BAFTA’s red carpet carrying a handbag that read “Trans men are men,” on one side and “trans women are women on the other. Earlier this year, Morgan’s pantomime performances included a touching tribute for trans folks, while she wore a trans pride flag dress during her first major red carpet event in 2023.
