Chappell Roan accused of ‘rude’ behaviour towards popular TikToker on red carpet

Lesbian singer Chappell Roan is getting dragged again, this time after making an allegedly “rude” hand gesture towards popular TikToker Harry Daniels. 

Roan, who last year posted a series of TikTok’s urging her fans to stop “harassing” her in public, has sparked backlash after seemingly being rude to a TikToker at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.

On Saturday night (8 November) at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Los Angeles, “Pink Pony Club” singer Chappell Roan was on hand to pay tribute to “born performer and revolutionary songwriter” Cyndi Lauper, as she became one of this year’s inductees.

Chappell Roan’s arrival at the event was met with photographers who were told to “be nice”.

“Chappell’s coming. No one yell at her or she’ll leave. Everyone be quiet, be nice … smiley,” the event planner can be heard saying.

At the event, Chappell Roan was joined on the red carpet by TikToker Harry Daniels, who went viral in 2022 for off-key serenades at celebrities, aimed to make viewers, and the stars, cringe. 

Daniels managed to get Janelle Monáe and Raye to join in with his content at the event, but Chappell Roan wasn’t having any of it.

“She’s got, she’s got a way,” Daniels began signing from Roan’s “The Subway”, before she rolled her eyes, put up a hand, and walked away. Daniels responded, laughing and turning to the camera to say, “oh, she literally got away”.

Comments in response to the clip accuse Roan of being rude, despite the fact he captioned the clip, “She’s very sweet plz don’t be mean to her from a 3 second reaction its for the lolz ya’ll.” 

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video of Chappell Roan being nice,” one person commented. 

“She’s such a terrible celebrity when it comes to fans,” another wrote, while someone else commented, “I love Chappell Roan, but she’s so negative sometimes.” Another joked, “Chappell Roan is so kind.” 

Last year, Roan confronted a photographer for what she says was “disrespectful” behaviour on the red carpet. The incident occurred one month after Roan told a different photographer to “shut the f*** up” after they told her to “shut the f*** up” in the first place during the VMAs red carpet pre-show in September.

She previously said she would rather “quit” the pop industry than not stand up for herself.
