Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause has slammed her “once hero” Gwen Stefani after she promoted an anti-abortion app.

“The Sweet Escape” singer has received backlash for partnering with prayer app Hallow, which pushes anti-abortion views.

On 1 December, Stefani posted in partnership with Hallow for its “Be Still” advent challenge, calling on her 17.8 million followers to “slow down” and join her in prayer.

The app is backed by JD Vance and billionaire, Trump supporter Peter Thiel. Prayers included in the app promote anti-abortion views and are read by anti-abortion advocate Lila Rose, who is the founder of Live Action – a “global human rights movement dedicated to ending abortion and building a culture of life”.

One prayer reads: “Lord, today we pray that children in their mothers’ wombs would again be protected in law, and we do penance in reparation for abortion and ask for the healing and renewal of all who have experienced abortion. May all preborn children be protected and welcomed in love. Amen.”

Stause hit out at Stefani’s promotion of the app, and responded to a critical commentary by Matt Bernstein.

“Gwen-DON’T SPEAK,” she wrote in response to the video, captioned “this IS bananas. b-a-n-a-n-a-s”, about Stefani’s downfall.

“Please take your own advice on this one,” she added. The comment has been liked more than 40,000 times.

She later said in an Instagram Story: “[Gwen Stefani] is taking money to promote an app that encourages anti abortion, even in cases of [rape] and incest.

“Don’t speak is a play on words. She can say what she wants. And I can oppose it.”

She added: “I will always be against stripping women’s rights away. Even if it’s dressed up as my once hero @gwenstefani as a church grifter. It’s free to pray, and Jesus with a side of hidden agendas is not my idea of holiday cheer.”

Hallow offers users access to a database of Catholic prayers and other audio files, such as Bible stories, for $70 a year. Some of the prayers specifically mentions women who are “pregnant from acts of rape and incest” who would be thinking about having an abortion.

In May 2023, Stause tied the knot with her partner of just 12 months, Georgia Flipo, aka G Flip, at a secret Las Vegas wedding.

The reality TV star publicly came out as queer during Selling Sunset the Reunion in May 2022, where she opened up about her relationship with the non-binary artist who she calls G.
