Married At First Sight UK bride Rebecca Fenney has gone social media official with a female professional footballer, not long after she split from her TV groom Bailey Smith.
Fenney and Smith were described as the “strongest couple” on this year’s series of the reality marriage show but announced last month that they had called time on their relationship in July after the experiment finished.
At the time, Fenney told Cosmopolitan she “wouldn’t class” herself and Smith as friends post break-up but has “no ill feelings towards him”, adding: “What we shared was so special and I’ll always be grateful for that.”
On Thursday (18 December), Fenney went Instagram official with her new partner Lily Woodham, who also plays for the Wales national team and in the Women’s Super League for Liverpool, in a series of cute posts.
“Here’s my ‘new love’,” Fenney wrote in the one post which contained loved-up pictures of them in Manchester’s Gay Village.
“My 5ft 4” alpha,” she added, clearly poking fun at her MAFS non-negotiable that she needed to be paired with an “alpha male”.
In another post, a cute video of the two women which has the captions “In your 30s a girl will come into your life when you least expect it”, Fenney wrote: “She’s my ‘L’.
“You’ll question everything you’ve ever known about yourself… who you are, what you are, how this feels so right????,” Fenney added in the video captions.
“It’s important you don’t try and fight it, let love in.”
One of the adorable clips shows Woodall turning a hand-painted sign around which read: “Will you be my girlfriend.” Fenney responded with a series of sweet kisses.
Co-stars and fans alike were quick to share in the couple’s happy news.
Fellow MAFS bride Leisha Lightbody commented: “Yesss my girl your glowing.”
Abigail Lindsay, who was also on the show, wrote: “Awwww so happy for you girl, you deserve all the happiness.”
MAFS’ first trans bride, Ella Morgan, also commented: “Omg I’m obsessed with this!!! So happy for you! I think I need to join the club.”
