The Traitors is back for another series of lies and betrayals. As 22 strangers decamp to the Scottish Highlands, it’s the perfect time to get to know about LGBTQ+ contestant Stephen.
The fourth season, helmed by the fabulously fringed Claudia Winkleman, premiered on New Year’s Day. Divided into Faithfuls, who pray they don’t get murdered in their sleep, and Traitors, who plot sabotages, the show is a masterclass in lying through your teeth.
With appreciative viewers recently discovering Stephen’s socials, and subsequently his topless posts, you may be eager to know more about him. Here are all of the facts:

Who is The Traitors’ Stephen?
Stephen Libby is a 32-year-old cybersecurity consultant. He was born on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland, but currently lives in London.
Ahead of appearing on the show, he watched every single iteration of The Traitors, making him one of the most well-prepared contestants.
“I genuinely love this game,” Stephen shared. “Maybe I’ve got a bit of a delusional kind of a sense that I can do really well in this.”
He added that he can be very competitive. “I met my partner, and him and his family are vile when it comes to games,” Stephen also shared. “There are no holds barred, and it gets a bit heated.
“I had to learn to be equally committed and now they’ve awakened something in me that I never knew was there before!”

Is Stephen a Traitor or a Faithful?
Stephen is one of the Traitors. He is joined by Hugo Lodge and Rachel Duffy.
However, there is also the bombshell that this season includes a hidden fourth Traitor who viewers haven’t seen.
Speaking ahead of the show, Stephen admits he has a “good poker face” to be a Traitor.
His game plan is to “make connections but don’t be too loud, contribute ideas but don’t be suspicious.”
Stephen also added: “One of the things that I really want to make sure I’m doing when I’m in there is having as much fun as possible.”
“I don’t want a voice in my head saying, oh, act like this now, or do this now, or try and do this now. I’m hoping that it will come naturally.”

Does Stephen on The Traitors have a boyfriend?
Stephen is queer, joining Matthew as an out LGBTQ+ contestant on the show’s fourth season. In previous seasons, there have been other LGBTQ+ competitors. On season one of the UK version of the show, there were Theo Mayne and Andrea Addison. Season two saw Miles Asteri compete as a recruited Traitor. In season three, Leanne Quigley won the show and shared she’d use the prize money to fund IVF with her fiancé, Sophie.
On Instagram, Stephen regularly posts with his partner, actor, writer, and painter Daniel.
After his appearance on the show, viewers found Stephen’s socials and were seriously thirsting over him. Talking to the BBC about his physique, he said: “I’m quite active. I would say that. Not going to say that I’m an absolute hunk, but… I do go to the gym every day, and I used to be a competitive gymnast as well.”
The Traitors returned to BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8pm on 1 January.
Episode two airs at 8pm on Friday (2 January) and episode three airs at 7.45pm on Saturday (3 January)
