Heated Rivalry‘s Hudson Williams has shared his ambition to work with Luca Guadagnino and it’s had some interesting responses.
The 24-year-old actor, who stars as Shane Hollander in the Canadian LGBTQ+ sports drama about the love affair between two rival ice hockey players, has quickly become an obsession of many on the internet.
This is in part due to his “sensitive” portrayal of his character, his chemistry with co-star Connor Storrie, who plays Ilya Rozanov, and the series’ hot sex scenes.
Joining Sorry About That at the Whistler Film Festival recently, Williams discussed his taste in films.
As well as joking about American Psycho being a favourite movie Williams mentioned the roles he’d like to play. He named specifically DC’s Nightwing.
“I also want to work on a Luca Guadagnino movie,” he continued mentioning the director of Challengers and Queer.
This last answer has drawn a variety of responses from those online.
“Hudson Williams who was sent on earth with the sole purpose of kissing men on screen wants to work with Luca Guadagnino I said oh I’m sure,” wrote one person on X/Twitter.
“The concept of Hudson Williams and Josh O’Connor in a Luca Guadagnino movie… I see the vision,” added another user. “I need it more than I’d care to admit,” commented someone else in response to the interview.
“I would like to see it,” put someone else while another fan typed, “Good boy”. And someone else said, “Yes please. Put that fat ass to use.”
And summing up a lot of the reactions someone wrote, “I am thirsty for this collaboration Luca would love Hudson.”
It’s interesting that Williams mentioned American Psycho and Guadagnino in his interview given the Call Me By Your Name director is working on a new version of the film based on Bret Easton Ellis’s novel.
Williams’ Heated Rivalry co-star, François Arnaud, recently responded to a fan cast of Williams as Patrick Bateman saying Williams would be “f****** perfect”.
Williams in turn responded: “I don’t know whether to thank you or be concerned.” Could Williams be manifesting himself a new leading role? We’ll see!
Heated Rivalry is streaming on HBO Max in the US and Crave in Canada. It will be available on Sky and NOWTV in the UK from Saturday 10 January.
