US attorney general Pam Bondi has hit out at six prosectors, claiming she fired them in connection with the Becca Good investigation.

Six federal prosecutors who asked to resign after the Department of Justice (DOJ) began investigating Good, the wife of Renee Nicole Good – who was fatally shot by an ICE agent in Minneapolis on 7 January 2026 – were fired by Bondi.

The DOJ’s bid to link Good to criminal associations or ties to anti-movement groups saw Joseph H. Thompson, the second in command at the US attorney’s office in Minnesota, quit without explanation. His departure was followed by senior career prosecutors Harry Jacobs, Melinda Williams, and Thomas Calhoun-Lopez.

‘I fired them all’

Bondi claimed to Fox News that she had fired six prosectors, whom she claimed had been pursuing careers at liberal law firms instead.

“Six prosecutors suddenly decided they didn’t want to support the men and women in ICE,” she told Fox News, adding: “So they came, they said, ‘We want to resign, but we want to use our annual leave up until April,’ meaning they wanted the taxpayers to pay for them to go on vacation because they decided they didn’t want to support law enforcement.

“So, the breaking news tonight: I fired them all. They’re fired from the office.”

She claimed the fired six “had been out there interviewing at liberal law firms prior to this”, adding: “One of them actually, in 2022, defended BLM [Black Lives Matter] when they burned down a pawn shop, and someone was murdered.

“They want to be part of the resistance? Bring it on. They’re not going to be working for Donald Trump and the Department of Justice any longer… Good riddance to the six that are gone.”

In the wake of the shooting, the Trump administration was quick to label the incident “domestic terrorism” and accused Good of “stalking and impeding”, using her vehicle as a weapon in an to attempt to injure or kill ICE officers.
