Sneako rants about ‘trans Satanist’ Sam Smith on Louis Theroux Manosphere doc

Sneako ranted about Sam Smith in conversations with Louis Theroux.

Controversial male influencer Sneako incorrectly claimed that singer Sam Smith is trans on Louis Theroux’s Inside the Manosphere documentary.

Theroux’s anticipated Netflix documentary, which premiered on Wednesday (11 March), meets male influencers such as Harrison Sullivan, known as HSTikkyTokky, to shine a light on the misogynistic and homophobic culture that surrounds the ‘manosphere’.

Towards the end of the 90-minute documentary, Theroux speaks to male influencer Nicolas Kenn De Balinthazy, also known as Sneako – a former friend of Andrew Tate’s who was also an attendee at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Sneako, who has been banned from most major platforms for hate speech and misinformation – apart from X, where he has one million followers – spoke about Sam Smith in a conversation about Satanism, which he believes is running the world.

‘He’s straight up worshiping the devil’

Giving an example of what he described as Satanism at award shows, Sneako repeatedly misgendered “unholy” singer Smith, stating: “You know Sam Smith, he’s a British guy. He used to look like you, and suddenly he became extremely fat, he became transgender, and now those award shows are not just spreading LGBT – he’s straight up worshiping the devil. It’s not even subtle.

“The music is saying, ‘something unholy’, and then the way he performs it, he puts on devil horns, with 30 devils on stage, and they were simulating having gay sex at the award show.”

Theroux countered Sneako’s beliefs that Smith is controlled by satanists, saying, “I strongly doubt it”.

The performance Sneako referred to was at the 2023 Grammys. Smith was joined by Kim Petras, and their rendition of “Unholy” was immediately criticised by conservatives, who called it “demonic”.

In the rant, Sneako incorrectly said that Smith is trans. They aren’t: Smith is non-binary and came out in 2019, changing their pronouns to they/them. It’s probably worth saying that they’re not a Satanist either.

Smith previously told Michelle Visage that they had always known they were non-binary.

Non-binary people can identify anywhere along the gender spectrum. In fact, some non-binary people see themselves as being entirely outside the notion of gender.

However, transgender refers to someone who doesn’t identify with the gender they were assigned at birth, and not all trans people are non-binary.

Again, this is another example of Sneako being quick to spread misinformation.
