These are the US states with the largest – and smallest – average penis size

A new study on penis size data shines a light on length and happiness, as well as whether there’s too much emphasis on size.

The study, from New York’s private medical practice, Bespoke Surgical, reveals the average penis lengths across the US.

Surveying over 3,000 US adults, the report asked respondents with a penis to self-report their flaccid and erect length to collate state-wide data. Also, 500 women were asked their views on penis anatomy.

One of the main takeaways is that the average self-reported erect length in the US is 6.34 inches.

Furthermore, the penis grows 3.09 inches between being soft and erect.

Across the US, the midwestern state of Iowa was crowned home of the longest penis, 7.13 inches. Closely followed by South Carolina (7.04), Arizona (7.01), New York (6.72) and Indiana (6.68).

However, it’s important to remember this date was self-reported. As the study details, “67% of respondents with a d*** overestimate their size.”

On the other hand, 28% underestimate their size when talking with friends and potential romantic partners.

‘47% of gay men said penis size impacts their confidence’

The report also offered some comparisons between LGBTQ+ people with penises and straight people.

One data set revealed that gay men, compared to straight men, were more likely to feel anxious about penis size when intimate with a new partner. 47% of gay men said penis size impacts their confidence, compared with 36% of straight men.

Also, 84% of gay men said they’ve compared themselves to others, versus 45% of straight men.

Another big debate, of course, is girth versus length.

60% of all respondents (including multiple genders) say girth matters more than length. A follow-up question also revealed that 63% of both straight men and women prioritise girth over length.

However, the responses from gay men offered a different perspective. 60% said length matters more than girth.

More importantly, an overwhelming 96% said being a good or skilled lover matters more in bed than penis size.

When respondents were asked about what matters most in bed, emotional connection (63.9%) and chemistry/compatibility (63.5%) both far outpaced physical attraction (38.4%). Additionally, penis size ranked last (8.1%) by a wide margin.

Do with that information what you will.

Dr. Evan Goldstein, founder of Bespoke Surgical, remarked on the report: “It’s no secret we’re culturally obsessed with inches.

“Guys inflate, round up, add a little ‘creative math,’ and this study proves it. But when it actually comes down to it, people care a lot more about connection, both mentally and physically.”
