GB News has received backlash from the public – as well as public figures like Green Party leader Zack Polanski and Drag Race Star Bimini – following remarks made by a guest that linked attendees of LGBTQ+ Pride marches to paedophilia and bestiality.
The remarks, made by Catholic journalist Caroline Farrow, featured in a segment discussing Pride that aired on 5 July.
Pride in London 2026 took place on 4 July and saw more than 35,000 people come together to march from Hyde Park Corner to Whitehall in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. The theme was “Many Voices, One Front”, and highlighted the recent rise in transphobia and anti-LGBTQ+ hate crimes.
In the segment, Farrow and Liberal Democrat councillor Mathew Hulbert debated whether or not the LGBTQ+ Pride march was suitable for children.
“What we can see here is a very sexualised display,” said Farrow. “In fact, I saw another video of a guy called Young Bob, I think, and he was looking at all the merch that was available for children, or, well, it was generally available merch, but, you know, aimed at a festival aimed at children.”

She went on to insist that the merch had “very sexualised” messaging. “I think the problem that Pride has is [that it’s] not about gay rights. It has become about celebrating every single sexuality that isn’t heterosexuality,” she continued.
“Including some very bizarre and unhealthy kinks and quirks, you know, like furries and bestiality, and even minor-attracted, they call themselves minor-attracted. You know, paedophiles.”
Farrow’s comments received immediate backlash from the public. Green Party leader Zack Polanski, Drag Race UK star Bimini and clothing and record label He.She.They came together on social media to pen an open letter to Ofcom regarding the “dangerous” comments.
“An open letter to Ofcom – the UK media regulator,” the letter read. “How is it that GB News and others are allowed to say that pride is about celebrating minor attraction and bestiality when it’s not true.”
It continued: “LGBTQIA+ people find these things just as abhorrent as anyone else does. Do your job and hold these channels to account. It’s so dangerous to allow lies like this to appear as fact when people don’t think critically.”
In a statement, a GB News spokesperson said: “The views in question were expressed by an interviewee during a live on-air debate and are their own. They do not reflect the views or editorial position of GB News.
Anyone watching the programme would have seen the views were challenged by other contributors and the presenter, Alex Armstrong.
“GB News takes its responsibilities as a regulated broadcaster seriously and is committed to complying with all of its obligations under the Ofcom Broadcasting Code.”
In 2025, GB News aired an apology after a host compared LGBTQ+ people to “paedos”.
Note: An earlier version of this article omitted a statement from GB News clarifying that Farrow’s opinions are not the editorial position of GB News.
