Off Campus star Stephen Kalyn to play Sydney Sweeney’s boyfriend in The Housemaid’s Secret

Stephen Kalyn has joined the cast of Lionsgate’s The Housemaid’s Secret, marking a major big-screen step after his breakout role in Prime Video’s Off Campus.
Kalyn will play Brock, Millie’s boyfriend, a lawyer who is in the dark when it comes to her criminal past. He joins a line-up that includes Sydney Sweeney, Kirsten Dunst, Brittany Snow, Paul Anthony Kelly and Michele Morrone, with Morrone reprising his blink-and-you’ll-miss-it role as Enzo from The Housemaid.
Sweeney stars as Millie Calloway and is signed on as a producer through her company, Honey Trap. Paul Feig is directing, and Rebecca Sonnenshine is returning to write the adaptation.
A synopsis for the sequel sets up a new locked-door mystery for Millie. “In The Housemaid’s Secret, Millie returns, taking a job keeping house for a woman she’s never allowed to see, only to discover the truth behind the locked door that threatens to expose secrets far darker than her own.”
The Housemaid’s Secret release date
Based on Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel, The Housemaid’s Secret follows 2025’s box office hit The Housemaid. The sequel is set to open in cinemas on 17 December, 2027.
The first film was a sizeable commercial success. The Housemaid grossed $126.4million in the US and $400.5million worldwide, according to box office figures.
Stephen Kalyn’s rapid rise
Kalyn, 28, plays Dean Di Laurentis in Off Campus, adapted from Elle Kennedy’s novels. He has also appeared in TV projects including Gen V and the short-lived revival of Cruel Intentions.
Off Campus reached 36million viewers worldwide within the first 12 days of release, according to figures shared by Prime Video.
Kalyn, from Ontario, Canada, played ice hockey growing up before becoming interested in acting in school, where he played Danny Zuko in a production of Grease.
His early roles came on Canadian television, in series such as Transplant and Murdoch Mysteries.
He is engaged to his girlfriend Victoria Lovatsis, with the couple having been together since 2012. In fact, it was his girlfriend who pushed him to audition for his Off Campus role, as Dean was her favourite character after reading the books.
