Bratz pays tribute to Tim Curry with iconic Rocky Horror doll

Bratz is celebrating one of the biggest icons of camp with a very fitting tribute to Tim Curry.
On August 30, the doll brand’s Instagram account shared an image of a Bratz styled after Curry’s legendary Dr Frank-N-Furter character from The Rocky Horror Picture Show, complete with the glam, dramatic makeup and unforgettable fashion that helped make the character a queer and pop-culture icon.
“Tim was never afraid to be exactly who he was,” Bratz wrote, praising him as a “King of camp and fashion icon” and saying his passion for individuality will continue to inspire.
Curry’s performance as Frank-N-Furter has remained one of the most enduring symbols of Rocky Horror since the film’s release in 1975.
Curry died on 25 August, with law enforcement reportedly responding to his Los Angeles home at 11:23 PM.
Curry originally starred in Rocky Horror at a small venue at the Royal Court Theatre in London, before eventually appearing in the movie adaptation in 1975.
Curry said in 2005: “It’s a chance for people to try on a few roles for size, maybe help them figure out their own sexuality.
“I’ve certainly had some very interesting and moving mail from people who’ve said, ‘Thanks for helping me figure out who I was,’ and that’s very nice.”
Luke Evans, who had until recently been playing the iconic character in a Broadway production of Rocky Horror, took to his Instagram after Curry’s death was announced to share a letter he had written to the original star near the end of his Broadway run.
Evans wrote: “There will only be one Tim Curry” and described Curry as “a force, a bright fierce flame, an exquisite charm and that rich vocal tone”, adding: “He was an inspiration to me and so many people for the roles he played and the effect he had on so many of us.”
